Queen’s College is the Bahamas’ premier independent school, established on January 13, 1890. As you navigate our website, you will see from our Statement of Mission and Purpose that, as a faith-based educational institution, our school has been providing high quality, holistic and caring education. We are one school comprised of three parts: The Early Learning Centre, the Primary School, and the High School, each headed by a highly competent team of administrators. Today our student population exceeds 1560, ranging in age from ages three and a half years to seventeen years.

Queen’s College’s legendary past includes many and varied significant contributions of our alumni to nation building. Our alumni, continue serving in leadership positions in the judiciary, political, educational and civic arenas of our community and our current leadership team is committed to enhancing our efforts to offer an educational experience to each student that will, in turn, inspire and develop them to excel as leaders, empowered with the knowledge and skills that are essential for success in our modern, globalized world.

Two years ago, Queen’s College joined a progressive group of schools located throughout the world, designated as ‘leadership schools’. The programme is based on ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’ developed by Stephen Covey.

These schools all have an intentional focus on teaching leadership, ‘everywhere all the time’. Our introduction of ‘The Leader in Me’ process provides authentic opportunities for students to practice leadership skills in the classroom, on the campus and at home every day.

This new incentive, we believe, will have far reaching benefits, not only for Queen’s College but for The Bahamas and the world. Our belief is that, in the end, every child who graduates from Queen’s College will have a set of skills, along with an excellent and practical education, and will be citizens who demonstrate proactive behavior, put first things first, use their emotional intelligence and who understand that their responsibility includes moral and civic engagement in whatever situation they find themselves.

I deem it a privilege to serve my Alma Mata and to lead such passionate, capable school leaders and teachers.

I hope that this website will give you an introduction to what we offer at Queen’s College and motivate you to consider our school for either a place to enroll your child or a potential place of employment.
